High-speed data transmission: Fischer Connectors’ rugged solutions feature USB 3.2 Gen 2 up to 10 Gbit/s with optimal signal integrity

Data protocols are constantly evolving to enable interoperability and reliable transfer of increasing amounts of data at the highest speeds between more and more connected devices. To address this technological challenge, Fischer Connectors is expanding its platform capabilities to meet the most demanding connectivity requirements for high-speed data transfer using the USB 3.2 Gen 2 protocol up to 10 Gbit/s.

The Fischer family founded Conextivity® Group to meet the connectivity challenge posed by the emergence of new cross-functional and scalable ecosystems, from locally interconnected devices and sensors to cloud-managed IoT platforms. The group's R&D department, which has doubled in size over the last five years, is strengthening its teams with new expertise, especially in signal integrity engineering, embedded electronics, the cloud and the IoT. The family-owned technology group is accelerating the development of its two business activities, Fischer Connectors® and Wearin’®, towards the same entrepreneurial vision. The former is broadening its scope of activity to include electronics and building a production site in Portugal. Wearin' is expanding its IoT solution and signing technology partnerships to improve the safety and efficiency of the connected human; in May, it was at the heart of a European civil protection exercise to test technologies available to first responders in the event of large-scale disasters. With double-digit annual growth, Conextivity® Group is aiming for a billion Swiss francs in revenue within 10 years.

Fischer Connectors’ solutions support the transmission of sensor data for the wind-powered SP80 boat setting out to reach the phenomenal speed of 80 knots, and thereby break the long-standing world sailing speed record of 65.45 knots

During the development of its boat that is now close to its final design phase, the SP80 team has chosen Fischer Connectors for the data-transmission solutions interconnecting the various sensors that will equip the boat and its pilot to break the world sailing speed record. The technical challenge is to sail at a speed of 80 knots (148.16 km/h), powered only by the wind. This is 14.55 knots faster than the record of 65.45 knots (121.21 km/h) set in 2012.
